For her Culture & Politics major, Yasmine spent her final year at Georgetown conducting research on the representation of women in pre-revolutionary Egyptian Cinema. Yasmine combined anthropological studies, feminist texts and historical context to build a theoretical framework to analyze two contemporary Egyptian films and chart the evolution of women on the screen. The project was a labour of love, combining her interests in film and media with her Arab cultural heritage. The piece was subsequently awarded honours by Georgetown's faculty committee.
